Roomspiration Master Bedroom Day - Link up HERE!

The day has come to show off your...

*****MASTER BEDROOMS*****

...in the Roomspiration Blog Hop!

Roomspiration

And the crowd goes wild!

Well maybe not, but I am thrilled to be hosting Roomspiration today and can't wait to see where you fabulous bloggers lay your heads each night!

But first I'd like to share our master with you...

Background: Hubs and I bought our first house last summer - a 1960 brick ranch to be exact. We are only the second owners of our humble abode, and we've been dedicated to fixing it up "one room at a time", hence my tagline.

keys please!
Our master bedroom was high on the priority list. We wanted a relaxing and stylish place to end our nights and start our days. We started with this...

Tan walls, brown floors, brown baseboards, brown window trim, and yes that's a very blue bathroom you see there. But don't worry we've already fixed that issue...

Sorry, I digress...

One of the first things we did (before we moved in actually) was have the original 50+ year old hardwood floors refinished and stained a darker color...

Fast forward a little and we were freshly moved in... (newly stained floors and all)

But still a lot of work ahead of us...

Next step: Paint

Then we tore out and replaced all the trim, baseboard, and interior doors throughout the entire house. What a difference that made in itself!

Now it was time for a design plan. Our master bedroom needed a statement piece, an element of drama, if you will.
And I knew just what I wanted to do....

Hubs -- making it happen!

Safety first!

And before we knew it After a lot of hard work
we transformed our master bedroom from this...

BEFORE

To this...

AFTER

BEFORE

AFTER

I wanted the headboard to be tall tall tall, and when I saw this fabric at Brentwood Interiors I knew the scale of the pattern and pretty ivory and pale grey colors would be THE perfect covering. This fabric was the jumping off point for the entire room.

As a former equestrian, I love my iron horse head. It was a recent find at a Homewood antique store while visiting friends in Birmingham. The silver boxes were a wedding gift and the silver scalloped bowl is Julia Knight - a bridesmaid gift from my bestie.

One of my favorite corners in the house.

Childhood nightstand, frames from Marshall's, lamp from Homegoods.

The shams and duvet are from Pottery Barn. The grey throw on the end of the bed is from Overstock. The front pillow was from RuLaLa.

Custom roman shades in a gorgeous ivory linen - lovingly crafted by my mother-in-law!

The dressers are from Ikea (Edland series). I was instantly drawn to the color and romantic curve of the legs. I changed out the knobs (Lowes). The mirror was bought from an antique store while in high school - I remember begging for it!

Candlesticks and frames are from Homegoods.

The white frames are PB, the gold frame is from Ross, and the ornate wooden details are from Southeastern Salvage. I've been on a mission to adjourn our home with more photographs. I wanted our wedding photos to take center stage in our master.

I'm obsessed with my little chandelier from Overstock. Hubs put it on a dimmer and I just love the soft glow and touch of glamour that it adds in between our closets and leading to the master bathroom.

I hope you liked your tour of our master bedroom just as much as our
little pooch loves all that white bedding! ;)

Roomspiration - DAY 8: NURSERIES

Roomspiration

The Roomspiration room of the day is...

NURSERIES

...hosted by Shelley from {a' la mode}!

All you expecting mothers out there (and heck, the rest of us too) should really go check out the goods linked up today! There is sure to be some lovely, cutie pa-tootie rooms for the little ones.

Maybe something like these...

I love the drama of the dark wall paired with the playful stripes on the ceiling.

This is a sweet little room made up of neutrals and pale pinks.

Now this is the girliest of all girly rooms! How cute are those two-tone stripes !?
Love the mirror and the ruffle on the curtains

This room looks comfortable and home-y to me... with a touch of rustic.

A bed fit for a princess!

Wow! Way to pack a punch with color! I bet this is the happiest room in the house!

I'm loving this soothing color palette of pale blues and greens. Too cute.

Pink and white done perfectly. I love the mix of patterns here.

 Anyone have baby fever yet?
Me? Nope, not yet. One day though! :)

Roomspiration - DAY 7: KID ROOMS

Roomspiration

The Roomspiration room of the day is...

KID ROOMS

Hosted by the addicting-ly funny and incredibly stylish Aubrey (love her!) from...

{ All Things Bright and Beautiful }

Although hubs and I are far from having a kid's room to decorate I put together a collection of some beautiful and sophisticated children's bedrooms in other family's homes.

Ladies first...

Can't leave out inspiration for the little fella...
